My First Loop Switch 2 Model - a Review

I had read elsewhere that the Switch models are convenient but if you know for sure that one mode (like "engage" or "experience") is going to be your default. . . . just buy that mode, because the dedicated models are better at their job. I can now confirm that this is a true fact: the dedicated models are absolutely the best at their jobs. That said - sometimes the convenience of being able to switch around is super nice, actually. For context, I work at a coffee roaster and I love the job. But that does mean. . . the roaster is loud, the cleaning tools to work on the roaster (and maintain the grinders) are loud, the fans are loud, the people are loud, and the grinders are mega loud. The Loop Engage saves my sanity and hearing every day: I can hear customers and their requests at the register just fine, but it dials down everything else. I did try the Experience - it refined the sound of the roaster (these are for concerts only, for me!). The Switch feels a little physically larger in the ear than the others, and the sound experience between each mode is pretty subtle, but they do handle the job pretty well. The Engage mode works well, and the Quiet mode is notably quieter and muffles sound, but less well than even the dedicated Engage model does, by itself. Long story short: I like the Switch 2 for everyday running around, catching a train, etc. I really like the Engage Loops for work, and the Experience Loops for concerts allow me to enjoy live music. Also: the Tomorrowland color is indeed mega gorgeous. No regrets.

GAME CHANGER FOR CONCERTS

I was skeptical on how much these would actually help but my god. I used them at a concert and genuinely enjoyed a concert like never before. And I could still talk to my friends the whole time! 10/10 will never go to a concert without them again

Doubt led to belief

The Loops were making extraordinary claims which I dismissed as mere Internet exaggeration with no basis in fact. Just another company welcoming my meager income into their corporate coffers. I am a late diagnosed autistic who also has hyperacusis. Struggling for decades against unwanted noise I had resigned my self to no more airports, restaurants, museums, and stores in general. Wearing ear muffs was not going to happen. My ENT told me that I had nothing to lose as this product has a good guarantee. The cash outlay was significant for me but if I had a shot at sanity, it would be worth it. My first experience with the Loop was at a crowded casual restaurant with all hard interior surfaces. My phone's decibel meter recorded 70 to 82 decibels. The Loops allowed me to calmly order my meal, read a magazine, and have lunch in a composed manner. I could also easily hear the waitress. Fortunately I did order the leash, otherwise I would have lost these months ago. If I carried a second pair in my car things would be perfect. Thanks, Steve
