Having a convex pedal body design makes it a lot easier to roll the pedal forward than concave pedals like race face and specialized flat pedals. Also could be thinner profile, and the pins bend if you look at them wrong.

2nd set. Takes a beating and keeps on spinning. To this day I have not had to change a pin. Worth every penny.

If you pedal flats these have the best retention I have tried. Light, durable, cheap, what's not to like.
