I bought the Grimm’s Grasping Cube for my baby and it’s honestly been a bit of a standout—especially compared to other toys we take out in the pram. Normally everything ends up launched onto the pavement within minutes, but this is one of the few things she actually held onto the whole walk. The design is so simple but really clever. The cut-out sides make it easy for little hands to grip, and it’s the perfect size for babies just learning to hold and shake things. The gentle bell sound inside is a big hit—subtle enough not to be annoying, but interesting enough that she keeps shaking it over and over. It’s clearly designed to engage multiple senses, from sound to touch, which is exactly what babies this age are drawn to. Like a lot of Grimm’s toys, it’s beautifully made from smooth, natural wood with a non-toxic finish, so I don’t worry when it inevitably goes straight into her mouth. It feels like a “proper” toy rather than something disposable, and I can see it lasting well beyond the baby stage. If I had to nitpick, it’s very minimal—so if your baby prefers bright colours or lots of features, it might not grab their attention straight away. But for us, that simplicity is exactly why it works. Overall, it’s a lovely, calming little toy that actually kept her engaged (and in the pram!)—which is a win in itself.
