The diamond compound works well for stropping my Spyderco Military 2 knife with an s30v blade steel. I applied the 3 micron compound to the rough suede leather side of my strop and the 1 micron to the smooth leather side of the strop. It is good for edge maintenance on a slightly dulled knife. I wish that they would give you more compound for what you pay for it, but it certainly keeps the blade edge nice and sharp in between full on sharpenings. I didn't need to use too much of it to fully coat one side of my 8 x 3 strop.
