Based on the product description, I was expecting the grinder would be reasonably quiet. It is not at all quiet. It is actually quite loud. It makes me think there may be an adjustment that I needed to do when I assembled the unit. I do like everything else about the grinder. The adjustability and quality of the grind is very good. The anti-static coating from the burrs, through the shute, and into the holder, works as advertise, quite well. It is a pleasure not having messy chafe from freshly ground beans clinging to everything.
