I was curious to explore the "animalic" scent family (specifically civet, the musk of which was used in many vintage perfumes), so I bought a sample. This is a truly delightful, sophisticated fragrance. I once heard someone compare its scent profile to vintage Chanel No.5. It contains many of the same top, middle, and base notes as vintage Chanel No. 5, so it gives off the same vibe, but Civet certainly has its own personality, one that I really like. The dry down is my favorite. Perfect for fall/winter. Will be buying a full bottle.

Purring tame Civet
Civet is a beautiful animalic chypre of yesteryear but is very wearable for today. It opens w/ bergamot and lemon but those notes fade away and stay in the background for the duration of the perfume. This fragrance is heavily floral, especially yellow floral. What is really admire in this perfume is the wonderful use of coffee. I usually hate coffee in perfume but here it works very well. It gives the impression of petting a cat's fur backwards. This fragrance is warm, sensual, inviting. When I wear it, my husband can't stop smelling me. Very strong, a little goes a long way. Well worth the money.
