This flap is intended to work on Phone and Action Cam OG kits.
Shading the sun on the field side can be an issue as well. We've developed a very simple add-on piece that can be used intermittently and thrown in a gear bag when not in use. T...

Flap for Nexus
The flap does it's job by blocking a portion of the device from the sun. Setting the phone on the middle row of the mount vs the row closer to the fence and using the flap shielded the device from the sun preventing overheating.

Good Concept, Needs Refinement
Is it worth $5? Is there room for improvement? Yes to both.
The flap provides a little extra coverage around the middle of the mount, but I usually hook the flap directly to the fence for the following reasons:
1. Minimal adjustability. The hooks are spaced such that it’ll only mount with one hook on each side of the middle divider, so it just covers the middle. You can hook one end over the bend relief on one end, but run into issues with #3 below.
2. That middle divider (part of the metal mount design) already covers the middle, so this basically overlaps it and provides a little extra coverage of the gaps on each side. Per #1, why not make it so it can also entirely cover the gap on one side or the other?
3. The mount requires you to slide it up, then down on a fence to secure. The flap usually shifts during this because of the already-small gap between the mount face and the fence.
I usually just hang it on the inside of the fence when I can, instead of on the mount, which basically addresses all these issues. It’s soft so nobody really cares. Would love an update that allows setup before mounting to a fence and more flexibility to cover anywhere along the width of the mount.
