Amber Waves Perfume

Took a minute, but now I LOVE it

I got this as a free gift with a recent promo. I ordered the new Rodeo Soul Harmony. Ironically, the RSH is not gourmand at all which is what I usually go for. I have always been more into gourmand scents, but I do like nostalgic scents as well. I was not sure how I would feel about Amber Waves since it has a fig note. Seems like most things with that just do not sit well with me. The first time I sprayed it I could get the fig right away and something woody. For some reason the real sweetness of it did not come out, so all day I was just like nah. I waited about a week and tried it again. LOVE this. It really is a deep true gourmand scent like the way it is advertised. Gourmand with a woodsy vibe to it. Like eating cake in the woods lol I get the cedar, a lot of amber, and a very rich sweet vibe. I cannot single out fig too much anymore which is odd since I did at first. It is very long lasting which is great. Just a couple of spritzes and I get whiffs all day. If you love gourmand scents, I say give this a try and dont judge it right away. Come back to it. It morphs all day and after a few hours just comes across as a creamy candied amber.

Im unhappy with how much I spent on this product for what it is. You cant smell the cedar, incense, or fig nearly at all. It just smells like a very sweet and creamy generic vanilla that you could find in a department store. I was looking forward to how these notes would come together, just to find that you cant even smell each of them. Im personally disappointed and wish I didnt purchase this, but if you like really sweet and creamy (and possibly basic) vanillas, this is the scent for you.
