Solves one problem but creates another. My old mailbox was not secure, but fit all small packages. The mail boss is secure but does not fit most small packages. The mailman hates it because he has to deliver more to our front door. So, with parcels on the front porch, I’m not sure this was a good solution. I got the largest size.

The tallest available post assumes you are installing it on the side of a road that has a curb. Where I need to place it, there is no curb, and the dirt beside the road is several inches below the pavement. Instructions say to have the lower edge of the mailbox door 41 to 45" above the road surface. The height of the door above the base is 8", so the post must stick up 45-8=37" above the dirt. That means only 43-37=6" will be buried in the dirt. I bought the depth extender, but that only extends the post by at most 12". Given the quality of the dirt here, I would prefer to have the post 3' deep in the ground. You need to be selling a longer post.

I’m very happy with the post. The quality and powder coating was excellent. I’m giving it 4 stars because I didn’t appreciate the fact that I has to pay extra $ to be able to have the ability to extend the height. I dug mine 2 ft in the ground, so it was evident I was going to need an extender. This should be included, especially when paying this much for a pole made out of sheet metal.
