I was one of the people in the online fundraiser and so I got a first generation fountain. Even though I've had the fountain for quite awhile now? It's still as good as new, in function...just a little bit of wear on it from 5 cats and 1 dog. Make sure you change the filter at the time of the reminder light, and at minimum, clean the whole fountain thoroughly every time you change the filter. It gets that scummy build up, and changes the quality of the water your animals drink. Really, the only thing that bothers me is, even with heavy scrubbing, the rim of the base has become an ugly orangey-rust colour due to water dripping over the top and drying. It looks gross and I can't seem to get it off no matter what I try. My last resort was using the tip of a sharp knife to scrape it off, and even that didn't work! I still give it 5 stars though.

Great fountain

Bought the fountain over a month ago and were extremely happy with the product. The sensor is great, the fact it has a battery and doesn't have to always be plugged in paired with how easy it is to clean, would buy again
