Clean install on a Toyota 4Runner SR5

on a Toyota 4Runner SR5. Took my time, verified the best camera placement for both visibility and clean cable routing before sticking anything to the windshield - and it's perfect. Works great, looks clean.

No need to run a wire from the fuse box

The Dongar dash cam adaptor is a no brainer. Although the 2026 Subaru Outback isn't listed, I chose the Accent with the same trim level and the DCA-10B adaptor works for the outback. The only negative is that the adaptor is that the new DCA-10B adaptor only has a USBc output, and the adaptor we had in my wife's 2022 Forester had a USB output. So I had to use a USCc to USB adaptor, luckily, I just happened to have one. Installation is straight forward and only took a few minutes.

I wanted this because my dashcam would come unstuck from the windshield and pull out a lot of the wire connected to it, besides using up the USB port on the dash. My truck, a 2020 Titan, wasn’t on the list of compatible vehicles. I contacted customer service and sent them a picture of the connection. They got back to me with the answer within a few hours. It works perfectly. It was easy to hook up, only taking a few minutes.
