SwitchBot Lock Ultra

So far so good

Was easy to get up and running . Was a pain trying to get this to hook up with apple home had to use AI for help to get that part set up. This should be Clearly listed on your web site how to do this! I still find my Lockly Visage Zeno lock was the best setting up and connect with apple home with no issues. Of course this lock was a much cheaper price then it cost me. The only thing I don't like about this lock is that it does not come with two of the rechargeable batteries and I have yet to find how to purchase a spare one for it.

Powerful and Works With Home Assistant

I can’t believe the turning force that this lock has. My door is less-than-perfectly aligned, so other smart locks have struggled to lock. The Lock Ultra does it with confidence every time. I also love that I could set it up directly with Home Assistant without having to buy an extra hub or go through the Cloud. I did need a Bluetooth relay, but I already had one of those in place nearby this door. I have keypad locks from Kwikset on my other two exterior doors, which we never use the keypads on, and I’m seriously considering replacing those with Lock Ultras at some point too. All in all a great product, fair pricing and quick shipping. Installation was easy having replaced deadbolts before.

I will say there needs to be an improvement with the installation instructions on the jimmy proof version. In the video they install the lock horizontally. I choose to do mine vertically. Doing it horizontally apparently has difficulty locating the magnet. That’s the other thing. I video with the magnet location needs to be made for the jimmy proof. It is unclear on how/where to install the magnet for this version of product. That aside, the product itself I love. Easy to use and relatively simple to install.
