CLOUD - Bison 100% Down

My mittens will be warm this winter!

I ordered a 1-oz bag of bison felting fibre for ulterior motives. I didn't plan to felt with it--I wanted to stuff it into my mittens. I've collected some of the shed bison down that clung to the fences at the zoo in the spring, so I know how soft and warm it is, but I needed more than what I could scavenge. I live one provimce over from the O'Canada Bison Woll Corporation--but boy, my order arrived quickly--within a week. And I was very happily surprised to see how much fibre comprises an ounce! The stuffed-full bag was about 15 cm square and very fat, containing enough fluff to fill not only my mittens but also my boots, leaving a fair amount left over for crafts. And it is so soft--what a find!
