A bit disappointed with this one
I finished my first skill-building kit (sliding pick-up sticks) and loved it -- so was looking forward to this one. My biggest disappointment is that the pieces require a wider loom than I have. I didn't even consider this when I ordered the kit, since others are OK. (I have a 24" RHL with a weaving width of about 21"). So, I will be making scarfs and table runners. Also, the warping instructions for the windowpane piece are pretty confusing -- and I am a pretty experience RHL weaver. A suggestion for Gist would be to clearly indicate the width of the pieces on each kit -- I am sure I could have looked for them, but just didn't.

Not quite what I expected
(This review is for the Q1 box, using pick-up sticks by Tammy Bast.) First, the positives: the instructions are clear, even when they seem very complex. Tammy makes complicated patterns manageable. The patterns are great, and I can see myself doing them again. The yarn is beautiful, and a real pleasure to work with. If I could afford to work with Gist yarn exclusively, I would. On a less positive note: when I signed up for the box, I thought I was going to learn more than just following a pattern. I was hoping to learn how to come up with my own pick-up stick patterns. Also, the Strathmore Scarf needed 8 shuttles, which I don’t have, so I had to constantly load and unload the shuttles that I do have. I did not like the color of the scarf, which is disappointing. I also expected there to be more interaction on the Facebook page, but it’s just people posting their finished projects. This box is essentially three kits without any control over color.

High quality yarns for weaving . Instructions are somewhat difficult to interpret
