With the price for this hat a little lower than the other options online, I was concerned about the quality of the material, but it proved to be a winning choice. It is is exactly as described on the website. When I first saw the hat, I was amazed by the precision shape and quality of the product. The heavy weight felt 100% wool looks and feels authentic. It is a perfect addition toward completing my 1700’s impression and re-enacting collection. I intend to make Samson Historical my “go to” for fine quality historical clothing. It is evident this company has invested time and effort into researching period supplies and clothing. I appreciate that most of their items are hand-made in the USA. Cocked Hat

I purchased a hat to use when I am making presentations and re-enacting. I was much "harder" than I had imagined and steamed it a few time to soften it to fit to my square head. I am extremely happy with the product which needs work at the client's end to fit properly, which is expected. It is pretty indestructible otherwise. I purchased a unblocked hat for my wife which she is also happy with, but I need to work on that to mold it to her petite head. Good quality products and I recommend them. It was also the proper style that I wish.
