Mascara is somewhat clumpy and hard to apply

I guess with my age I was trying to find something that worked for me. Hard to find mascara that actually evenly distributes. This mascara has some volume but tends to clump and make lashes stick together. It does flow better when used with a companion mascara. When I say companion I mean apply a different mascara then apply the 4D TO BRING OUT YOUR LASHES.
