During the Edo period, Arita potters incorporated various stylistic aesthetics unique to Japan. One of these is the style of Rinpa art, perfected by Korin Ogata. He depicts familiar subjects such as garden trees and flowers in bold compositions and colors, and expresses this characteristic in Arita ware through the generous use of gold.
