This is a good intro to an Ethiopian coffee for those who enjoy more traditional roast profiles. It is listed as light by Atomic and light-medium by Trade, I would argue it is much closer to medium in the final cup. If you enjoy light roast and are looking for a fruit forward and delicate coffee I would say try something else. I didn't find any flavor notes I would describe as delicate; the roast level seemed to block most of that. I would describe it as right on the edge, if it was a lighter roast I am sure those notes would shine through. With the degree it's roasted to you can get the impression but never quite there. I tried Espresso, French press, Pour Over, AeroPress and all sorts of recipes to try and pull out the more delicate fruit notes you might associate with an Ethiopian coffee. At the end of the day the coffee is good but if you're looking for what is described you may leave wanting more. It's comes off as more traditional and roasted than the notes portray.

Not the fruity Ethiopian you are looking for.

This is a very good all around coffee. But if you are like me I was looking for a very fruit forward coffee. It's what I subscribed too and what I look for in Ethiopian beans. This is not fruit forward at all. It's very much traditional coffee notes. If that's what you are looking for then this is an excellent example of that profile. But it's not what I'm looking for with this subscription.
