This was a replacement that Shower Boss suggested for a unit that would not provide enough current to open the valve. The 9V battery test on the valve passed. We have had an ongoing issue with the 6 units falling because the button, when pressed, flexes the battery compartment, popping one or more batteries out of the holder. On this unit, the duct tape across the back didn't work. When it was all said and done, it was a board failure on the capacitor that caused the unit to stop working completely. After trying to replace the board, same; battery issue but now every time. I have modified the unit; fortunately, I mounted the battery tray in a maintenance closet, extended the cable, and all is good so far. It cost me over $150 spent with Shower Boss on parts for a Flaw they admitted was there. Also, I am lucky to understand how the system works and how to test it. Shower Boss provides NO advanced testing procedures. The concept is solid but not robust enough for heavy use. We are a campground, and during our peak season we have six showers handling 500-800 showers a day, just for reference. A better design would be to have an environmental box with a clear front and a button rod to press. The button. That way, service can be done from the unit without having to take it off the wall.
