Amazingly smooth

I bought one for my bandsaw and loved it so much that I picked one up for my Sawstop table saw not knowing if it would work and it fit perfect and one for my drill press. Typical Harvey tool, went together effortlessly and they all roll extremely smoothly even on my uneven floor.

Well built but a fatal flaw for the bandsaw

Really impressive design and construction. Among the various mobile bases I own, only the SawStop professional base comes close (SawStop is actually better). But the Spider pro has a fatal flaw when used with the Harvey HW615 bandsaw. The connecting rails on the base interfere with opening the lower door on the bandsaw. You can still get the door off, but you have to open it slightly and lift it off its hinges rather than just swing it open. The alternative (recommended by Harvey) is to install riser blocks under the bandsaw to raise the lower door above the base’s connecting rail. This seems like it would increase the risk of the bandsaw tipping over when rolling it around so I am unconvinced by their solution.

Great system for small shops where things need to move often.
