Porsche 997 - Controller

I was looking for a softer ride in non-Sport or Sport Plus on my 2009 C4S PDK. The DSC controller really delivers. My wife will now ride in the car. Previously. we felt every minor bump or tar strip in the road. This was a great investment.

997.1 install here - so a bit of soldering and splicing for the 3-axis accelerometer. Took me an hour or so, most of which was spent looking for the right wires in the Porsche looms! Then popped in the DSC box and went for a test drive. I replaced my factory Damptronics in 2023 with Bilstein B16s and found the ride to be too rough for my old bones. The DSC controller with a few maps from the various Porsche forums has returned the soft ride for around town while making sport mode more, well, better! Good piece of kit, wish I would have done it earlier!

Works great; ride quality in non-sport mode is definitely improved over the stock computer. Haven't plugged in a USB cable yet to check the settings for sport mode. Two observations: 1) the install is considerably more fiddly than suggested by the instructions, because the instructions don't show the full extent of the clip that the existing computer snaps into. I ended up pulling the foam trim piece under the dash and pulling back the carpet a bit more so that I could see what was going on. 2) While it's purely aesthetic and not seen, I sort of expected the new controller to arrive in a gold-colored box. An emotional thing that just makes it a bit more special. Silly, I know, but there it is.
