The ultimate upgrade

Upgraded from the original lock with Keypad, then Keypad Touch, to the Lock Ultra with Keypad Vision and I’m so glad I did. I hesitated because my old setup worked fine, just a little slow. This is a massive leap. No lag at all, fast and very responsive so far. Face ID is incredibly handy, especially when your hands are full, and having fingerprint and code as backups is perfect. Auto lock is reassuring if someone tries to follow you in, and the voice prompts are a fun, polished touch.

Quite Amazing

Moved into our house back in 2015 and somehow lived all these years without a proper locking system. Here in Australia, mortise locks are super common, but this was before smart home gear became mainstream (and before it stopped costing a small fortune). We only ever locked the front door when we went on holidays… until our toddler decided opening the door for strangers was his new hobby. That was the final push, and honestly, this lock has delivered way more than we expected. I was a bit nervous about the installation, but it ended up being really straightforward. The hardest part was hyping myself up to peel off the 3M tape. Everything else just worked. The only minor hiccup is that the keypad cops direct sunlight in the late afternoon, so face recognition struggles between about 5pm and 7:30pm. Outside of that window, it’s perfect. We used to rely on the garage as our main entry, but after it broke we realised how much wear and tear we were putting on it. Switching to the front door has been a game changer—especially now that the kids are catching the bus home and can let themselves in easily. Highly recommend for both the simple install and the everyday convenience. My only real gripe is battery life. We’ve had it for about three weeks and the keypad battery is down to about 65% and while it’s advertised to last a year, I’m guessing we’ll get more like two - three months (1st week went down to 90% as we were playing with it and testing). But to be fair, we have seven people constantly coming and going. For a household of two to four, I can see it lasting much closer to the stated lifespan or at least 9 months. Actual Lock ultra battery is at i would say 80 - 90% as it only shows a visual and doesn't stay percentage of battery life left.

Works very well

All good and does everything it’s supposed to. The only problem was that two of the grub screws to secure the mounting bracket to the euro cylinder didn’t seem to be threaded into the plastic and were extremely hard to tighten.
