Love it. Very convenient. If they make the hubs function built in it’d be even better. But no complain. I did have to design and 3d print a bracket for my door specifically though but it’s very versatile as is already.

Best choice for a retrofit smart lock in 2025

I got the SwitchBot Lock Ultra to replace my broken August Smart Lock Pro (worked perfectly for 6 years until the internal gears had worn out, but not available/supported outside of US/Canada these days). I like the appearance of the August Smart Lock better, but the Lock Ultra feels a bit more compact. I feel quite confident that it would likely not fail the way my previous August Smart Lock did as the Lock Ultra has significantly smaller knob meaning a lot less torque applied to the internal gears (if any) when people accidentally turn the knob the wrong way to unlock/lock the door. The auto lock feature works 99% of the time. However, auto-unlock works 90% of the time and there can be long delays when it does work, which is not as good as the August Smart Lock in this regard. Integration with Apple HomeKit through Matter setup works perfectly (though taking a while to figure them out). I ran into a bit of a hassle after the firmware upgrade of the Hub Mini. The Lock Ultra never responded to Apple HomeKit after the firmware upgrade until I tried removing the Hub Mini from Apple HomeKit and re-connect it. I hope I don't have to do this again for when they push the next firmware upgrade. Anyways, the company did a pretty good job with the step-by-step guidance within the app, as well as their detailed web documentation. I never felt I needed to contact support during the process.
