In the mood for mobsters? This should hit the spot!

While this noir isn't as beautifully composed visually or lyrically as many of those better known in the genre, I found that it successfully entertains as well as some of the classics! I was completely engaged throughout and enjoyed every step of this story lead by an excellent cast and interesting characters! Mitchum and Ryan are, as usual, great and I came away surprised at how much I especially enjoyed Ray Collins's performance as the prosecuting attorney, Welsh! Lizabeth Scott unfortunately has very little to do here but she does her usual best with the role she was given.
This Blu ray release looks beautiful; and while not groundbreaking or notable in any particular way, if you're in the mood for a good mobster flick, I think this one is very entertaining and great fun!! Definitely worth owning.

Great noir!
A tense and atmospheric crime drama with strong noir elements and an excellent cast. Great performances from three Noir stalwarts!
