If you thought you knew Speedland, think again.

This shoe is the best model I’ve run in from the brand. It’s lighter, the fit is excellent and quick to adjust on the fly as conditions and terrain change. The new midsole material is a huge upgrade. The lightness plus cushy ride and energy return make for real perfection. Bonus styling from Saysky makes it even more gorgeous in person. I’m loving the color way, co branding logos in the outsole and glow in the dark for some added fun. Super tech forward, the best of the best in materials AND performance w the removable carbon plate and boa fit system. This shoe checks all the boxes and more.

Very good but to expensive

I tested the RX:SKY for about 20 miles on technical trails with plenty of rocks and roots. Overall, they are very good shoes, but I believe they are overpriced for what they currently offer. The traction is impressive, even though the lugs are not very aggressive. Grip remained reliable on technical terrain. The drop feels just right, and the roomy toe box provides excellent comfort, especially on longer runs. The BOA fit system is quick and secure, and the upper locks the foot in very well. However, on one foot I could feel the BOA dial pressing against the top of my foot, which became noticeable during the run. Running without the carbon plate makes the shoe much more flexible and comfortable. With the plate installed, the shoe becomes significantly stiffer, but it also provides excellent protection over sharp rocks, almost like having a built-in rock plate. My biggest issue was the thick heel padding, which caused a blister on my Achilles tendon. That was disappointing on an otherwise comfortable shoe. Overall, the RX:SKY has a lot of innovative ideas and performs well on technical trails. However, I still think it needs a few refinements before it truly justifies its premium price. I look forward to seeing how Speedland continues to improve this platform.

What a shoe!!

Like the LDVL before it, this is my favorite model Speedland's made yet. Fast, fun, gorgeous.... I've raced 4 times since this category of shoe came out, made the podium 3x and was in 10th once. Incredible shoe!!
