Field Coat

I am using this on a 29 year old warmblood who developed scratches and had some edema that turned into an abscess that opened up a sizable wound on his cannon bone area. After the initial treatment and closing of the wound, we have been dealing with some thick scabs. I have seen some considerable improvement in the scratches and some of the thick scabs have started to peal off and scarring is flatter. I also used this on a scabby area from bug bites and it cleared it up in a few days. I like that it’s thick enough to stay on and block insects from getting in where I put it. Definitely will keep this in my arsenal.

I’ve been putting sunscreen on my horse’s white blaze for years and it’s a struggle! He hates it. But somehow this formula he doesn’t mind. I think it’s because it smells like peppermint and goes on so smoothly. Highly recommend!

We live at a higher elevation with very strong UV so my horse needs sun protection on her nose. I have never liked the noses on fly masks as they get funky very fast. I’ve tried different sun screens and Coat Defense is what I’ll keep using. It goes on smooth, doesn’t have a strong smell, and is easy to spread. It’s not too thick so dirt, grass, and hay doesn’t stick. My horse’s nose is still nice and not-sunburned pink.
