Best tactic ever
I have a small collection of darning mushrooms. They are old and beloved, and share the same problem: holding the cloth steadily in place! My new mending disc has a cord, in a groove, with a built in tensioner. Brilliant! I’ve used elastic and elasticized cord. Nothing worked as well as this device. The mend stays in place as I have tightened it so I can spend my time on stitches. Not adjusting the cloth.

More convenient than an embroidery hoop
Really nice darning disk, lovely in the hand. It's a really nice surface to work on, very stable and holds the fabric nicely in place. It's also cute :-)
