Standard Ultralight Fence System

I used this system in the Brooks Range this fall in an area of high bear activity and had no problems with bears. The system is tidy and easy to set up, a big improvement over the UDAP fences. It is high energy which means that run times are limited. Using lithium AA's I was able to get the advertised ~40 hours. One suggestion is that the alligator clip supplied to connect to the grounding rod is much too small and the connection seems tenuous. This could be perhaps solved with a more suitably sized clip or by making the connection to the ground rod use a ring terminal on connected via a wing nut, similar to how the connections are made to the energizer

The fence was easy to set up, and the tester worked great and it was nice to see proof the fence was working rather than just assuming. It worked out really well! Other brands of fences I've used in the past haven't had nearly as much cordage, and therefore couldn't fit as many tents inside the perimeter. And the Bearwatch Systems ultralight model was very comparable in weight to the other brand I've used. Bearwatch Systems was also very responsive when I've asked them questions. All in all great product from a great company! Thank you again!

Works just as advertised

Used on a Mt. goat hunt in a high density griz area. Had no bear issues but there was a peace of mind while sleeping and when I was away hunting that my camp was protected. Seems as if that is another issue bears coming in while gone and tearing your camp up. I just made sure to have extra batteries. Set up was easy.
