Could be a little better
The tent is nice, but I wish it was made with just a few extra things. In the top of the rain fly where the trekking poles are placed, there is only a small hole for the tips of the poles. It would be so much better if there were a couple of straps to wrap around your trekking poles to hold it in place. The first time I used the tent, one of the poles slipped and tore through the rain fly.

Tent received on time and well packaged. Tested only in the garden: lot of space inside and very good perceived quality. To be tested in the mountain to confirm that it’ sa very good product. Regards

Solid Tent and Happy With Purchase
Purchased the X-Mid 2 Solid recently for $745 AUD (included poles and groundsheet). Good build quality, lightweight, and appears to be durable. One of the best tents on the market when you combine these factors. All of the fabrics, mesh, zips, poles etc seem to be designed with longevity in mind. Refreshing to see in 2026. Many have said the pitch is simple, I disagree, it’s fast but not simple. It can be quite technical to get the tension correct, but once you know how to do you’re good to go. In terms of features, the vestibules, the magnetic door clips, and anti-condensation vents in the fly are very nice to have. The poles are ideally placed to support a pack and keep it off the ground. I was uncertain about the structural design but it didn’t blink in 40 km/h winds. I imagine in a storm, a traditional dome tent might fare slightly better but I am yet to find out. In terms of negatives, I take issue that the Solid variant has two mesh sections remaining. It would be such a small weight/cost difference to fill this with fabric and it would make a huge difference temperature-wise. As it stands this tent is quite cold below 5-10°C and it doesn’t really function as a 4-season tent. Additionally, the inner tent can be quite loose (even while the fly is under full tension). This can be fixed by shortening the connectors between the tent and the fly, but surely these coords could just be dimensioned correctly to begin with? Finally, why do the inner doors require two zips? It would be so much easier to get in and out e.g while carrying things, while it’s raining if there was just one zip. Overall quite happy with the X-Mid 2 Solid. I leave some criticisms in this review to give comprehensive feedback, but overall it is a good tent. Regarding the purchasing process, it is a little unclear on the website what is included. I would add an explicit section saying exactly what is/isn’t included in the standalone purchase. Additionally, on the delivery page, it said that local taxes would/might apply. I found this a little disconcerting, as the purchase price already included local taxes. In the end I didn’t have to pay anything extra.
