Blue Flag Iris (Iris versicolor) has blue-green, sword-shaped leaves and blue to violet flowers in late spring and early summer. The upright leaf fans form expanding clumps, usually about 2 to 3 feet tall. It adds flowers and vertical foliage to wet meadows, pond margins and other plantings where the soil stays moist.
