I have seen quite a few kids over the years roll ankles while tumbling etc, in every other shoe. Thankfully our coach has all us in these shoes and we have never had an ankle injury in the gym. They are sturdy, we managed to get two years out of them before the Velcro probably needed a refresh, but my daughter outgrew them anyways. Look great on stage, sturdy and I can breathe a little easier knowing she's got the additional ankle support. Worth every dime, and Cheer Direct always has great customer service and super speedy shipping (even without the express)
