The Mammoth's Leaf

First purchase from Iron Snail

Bought this jacket to make sure getting the right size. Beautifullly crafted and excellent jacket. A lot of thoughts into this jacket. Perhaps the only jacket one will need. I am looking forward to the mammoth or the limited edition when restocked.

IMO the Mammoth Leaf is a future classic

Residing in Maryland and fearing the regular Mammoth might be too warm for many occasions, I opted for the lighter, unlined Leaf - and…wow, what a perfect coat for me! The fit is like it was custom tailored (FYI I’m 5’11”, 160 lb and chose a medium for a trim fit - but I have no problem layering a sweater underneath). The weight is great for the Mid-Atlantic, fall through winter and well into spring. The loden color pairs well with just about anything, and in bright sunlight hints of other colors emerge: yellow, brown and black. I get compliments on this coat virtually every time I wear it. My other fear, that the unlined wool would be itchy, was unwarranted; I’ve worn the coat over just a T-shirt and the wool felt great against my bare arms, with no itchiness at all. Even at its price point I feel that the Mammoth Leaf is a bargain; if the tag said ‘Filson’ a coat of this quality would likely cost twice as much. A future classic that will be sought after by those in the know!

Sizing

I'm 6ft 1in 175lbs and ordered the M in the hopes it would fit. Unfortunately it didn't but only the sleeves. The quality was amazing can't wait to get one that fits next run.
