Reencle Gravity

Excellent experience so far! I have done the following types of composting for a decade: outdoor static pile, outdoor tumbler, bokashi bins then burial and now the Reencle. I like the ease of use and size for my family that generates a considerable amount of food scraps each week. The only thing I wish would improve my experience to a 5 star review? When the lid opens to put food scraps in, it stays open for a max of 10 seconds then the lid closes automatically even if your hand is in the way because you're still scraping food scraps into the Reencle. Once the door tries to close and can not, a loud beep indicates that the lid is open and it's less than pleasant.

Three weeks in

We are loving it so far- easy to set up, no smell, super quiet. So much better than food scraps on the counter that attracted bugs. Excited to use our compost in the garden when it’s ready!

Still on probation

I'm learning the intricacies of this unit. There are certain items that end up acting like string wrapped around the blades that I have to pull out by hand. I've emailed the company 3 times regarding an issue I was having with fluid leaking out of the bottom and they never acknowledged me at all. The end product is not usable as compost and must be further composted in the garden but I do love the concept of having an interim step between the kitchen and the garden that makes it break down more quickly in the garden. I can not recommend it at present but perhaps time will make me a convert.
