Replaced Quilomene

I replaced my 20 year old Quilomene with the XL. After 4 hunts, I like better about XL: deeper shell pockets and magnetic flaps, zippered key and phone storage in front, double water bottle holders, perfect fit from multiple adjustments, pocket inside game bag for easy access to collapsible water bowl for dog, and gear rides higher on my back than quilomene where it rode below waist and bumped my butt. The only thing I miss from the quilomene is the larger zippered main storage area. Well constructed, should last many years of hard use.

Hey Matt, Positive reviews are great for sales, I guess, but if you want to improve and grow, corrective criticisms can be very beneficial. That said your Summit XT is outstanding, and is as close to my old "Wing Works" as I can get. The lumbar pad is a great improvement. The materials and craftsmanship, so far, seem great. I own, and use several different vests for different applications. My "Wing Works" has been my main hunting vest for well over the last fifteen years, and is still going strong. It looks like hell, but I hunt a lot having been retired over twenty years. Here's a few things I feel could be done to make your product more attractive to more hunters. Offer both size water bottles: My dogs drink a lot and I use the water pouches more than I do the ammo pouches. Matt, you are a tall lanky guy who can reach back and pull out your water containers with ease. Some of us are built differently, and the shorter water containers in the shorter water pouches are much easier to remove and replace. My dogs are learning new words as I attempt to water them using my new vest. I get you water bottles part way out and then have to squeeze the bottom of the pouch like a tube of tooth paste to fully remove the bottle. The Molle system is the new wave, I guess, but I prefer the small slit pockets on the side of my "Wing Works" ammo pouches. They hold a small nylon comb for removing cactus quickly, before I have to pull cactus out of their mouth using hemostats, that I also keep handy in one of the side ammo pouch slits. The slits work well for holding reading glasses as well. Your wast belt works, but I find it loosens and I have to retighten. I don't care to have loose straps hanging down. I prefer the clamp down style buckle with only one stiff strap that tucks nicely behind the ammo pouch. Well, my review will most likely find the "Delete Botton", but if you ever decide to make the shorter water pouches please let me know and I will gladly purchase them.
