I thought this was gonna a be a great history of the Class 31s with a good selection of photographs, but ended up disappointed in it. It really is a photo book with captions of when and where and some facts about the photos. The different photos on a lot of occasions are of the same loco elsewhere in the UK. I think it could have been more diverse and with liveries spread out more over various other lines, passenger, freight and wagon choices. I'll keep it for a weathering guide, if anything else, but I'm glad I didn’t pay the full price or I'd have been really let down by it to two stars.
