Great journal
Nice way to keep track of ideas, designs, and changes made during building. As a teacher and grandmom of an eight year old builder, I appreciate the thought that went into encouraging the process of problem solving.

Simple, unique, helpful
The side-by-side 2D and 3D layout is very helpful.
I can start with a 2D view to conceptualize a project and then expand to the 3D view when I need to give the project depth, quite literally. Or, we can use the 2D grid for simple designs and the 3D ones for more intricate work.
I was initially tempted to use the grid as rulers, but later I realized that I can just go with the flow and work with any cardboard boxes I have. So...no, my diagrams are not to scale.
