What is this stuff?
I expected smokey, animalic leather, but what's in the bottle smells nothing like that. Maybe it's a batch issue. At full strength this smells like the soap mixture you get with a kid's bubble pipe/maker. I kept diluting hoping to find the right notes. Ok, at 0.1% it smells like a hollywood handbag stuffed with lipstick and makup. Can't see me using this in anything I would want to make - but you go ahead. On the upside, you won't need much as it's a beast.

One of the Best
Fraterworks' Cuir de Russie base is one of the best bases they offer. As others have said, it's like a complete fragrance. Very pleasant and soft and powdery, goes great with woody fragrances and helps to accentuate the woodiness without adding an overpowering leather note, it's just the right amount. Try it with sandalwood materials, you will not be disappointed.

Beautiful, Rich Scent
I tested Cuir de Russie on a smelling strip and the scent lasted for days plus the scent emanated a few feet from the smelling strip. I’m very happy I ordered Cuir de Russie.
