Fluency Passages

Amazing. My daughter is 5.5 and she has read the decodable books and I was looking for the next thing for her to read and this is truly amazing. We read 2-3 pages every night before bed, 1-2 ones she read before an 1 new one to keep retaining the new sounds. She scored in the 98% percentile in reading for the I-Ready program she has to do at school. Thanks TCR!!

My son had been doing well with Bob books (Level 1-2) and needed a new challenge that was a natural progression of learning. Most early reader children’s books introduce words/sounds that kids aren’t ready for too soon. That’s why I was so happy to find this product. Half of the fluency passages reinforced words/sounds he was already familiar with (e.g., sh, ch, th, magic e), and the other half present new, more difficult ones (e.g., oa, gn). My son likes the little drawings on each page corresponding to the story. I like that each passage is only one page (not intimidating for my son) and that the font and spacing make the words REALLY clear. One area for improvement would be with the actual stories. Sometimes they are written in such a way that my son has trouble comprehending, though I understand the reason for that is to keep with the specific sound that’s being targeted for the passage. I would 100% buy again and already look forward to rereading it with my son again for extra practice.

My daughter was able to read the first 2 sets of books and we were ready to move on to more complex readings and this has been great!! Its challenging her and helping a ton. Love everything ive purchased from TCR.
