Local noise /QRM ruins performance

This is a quality product but does not work for me. The internal receive is flatten by local noise but using my IC7100 with noise reduction available I have had some success decoding strong signals resulting in few short prepared QSOs. I feel a narrow audio filter might improve operating performance and operating comfort. Type ahead with the supplied keyboard is difficult as the action of the keys requires a strong tap, they are rather insensitive. Will I continue to use it, probably not as regrettable I am not enjoying using it, my eagerness to get going on CW has disappeared. I stress that I local noise is main problem and if I had tried a MMX before ordering I would have concluded not for me at this QTH.
