A Dad’s Gift to his Daughter’s New Career

My 24-year daughter, Madeleine landed a dream summer position as a Park Ranger at Katmai National Park. To congratulate her on landing the new position, I ordered an orange (her favorite color) Leatherman Wave and had her name inscribed on the blade. She was so happy and said with excitement “You got me a Leatherman!” Then I mentioned something like it has some special super sharp blade and upon opening it, she saw her name resulting in instant tears of surprise and happiness. Leatherman made a young woman very happy and a dad very proud.

Great tool for Everyday Carry

The Wave Alpha has a versatile mix of tools that somewhat mimics the Arc. I like using the bit driver in the extended position, and the easily removable deep carry pocket clip is a winner in my opinion. There is play in the knife lockup on the unit I received, but the pliers are nice and loose. I use the saw almost daily and like that it opens similarly to the knife blade on the opposite side (no spidey flick necessary). Handles are indeed comfortable all the way around.
