Liked the original Wave. Had one since they came out. About 20 years. The Alpha version is a definite improvement. Worth the cost. Having the knife, scissors, file & saw accessible without opening the handles is wonderful. Handle improvements are much appreciated. The anti pinch feature is what sold me. I threw a competitors away after using it ONCE because of the severe blood blister it gave me on my palm. Congratulations Leatherman on the new Alpha design and features.

I use it every day at work. Don’t know what I would do without it. I work for the Solid Waste Division for the city , finding lead batteries in kid toys and scooters. Batteries are not allowed at the landfill. My wave alpha is way better than having a pocket full of tools.

Alpha

I love the Alpha I really do. The build seems sturdy. The only thing I would change are the scales. I love the orange, its bright easy to see. The plastic and texture is my only "complaint" it kinda traps dirt with the tiny grooves and I feel if the scales were to fall and hit concrete or metal, they may break. I could be wrong, after switching from the wave + it just feels different. Functionality and practically, this tool is 💯👌🏽. It's absolutely perfect. I plan on getting the arc as well and comparing for my edc. I work in construction so these tools are a life/time saver
