These are really great!
I got a pair of the new SR80's after having previously owned SR125X's and SR325X's. The first thing I noticed out of the box is that they seemed to be much better built. The others weren't bad at all, but I was always kind of worried about breaking them, where I don't feel that as much with these 80's. I immediately noticed the headband, just in looks and feel it is definitely an upgrade. I loved the F cushions on the 325X's, so I was really happy to have those on this new pair. Some say having the driver against your ear might be a bit painful or cause ear fatigue, I didn't find that to be the case. I also wear glasses and none of the Grado's caused any kind of pain or fatigue. The biggest improvement though is the cable. I didn't mind the old phat cable, but this new one is a lot smaller, making it easier to move around and work with. As far as the sound goes, well it's a Grado, so you won't be disappointed at all, especially with rock music. I like to turn it just a notch above what I might normally listen to music at and that extra bump in volume really brings out the "excitement" that this great brand is known for.

Sound quality excellent-design needs improvement
Sound is crisp and clear, It did require a few hours break in, Design of the ear pieces needs work. The ear pieces swivel too easily. The foam ear pads are uncomfortable and come off too easily.

Great Sound
Just received the new Grado SR80 and after years of using a Koss Porta Pro this was a very nice step up in a on ear headphone which is really the best way to go.
