Works well - although question the value as an “upgrade”

The unit arrived quickly - great service from the reseller here in Australia, DRMEC. The unit itself is good and works as described. However the cable was faulty and I had to install, uninstall, reinstall several times to troubleshoot (one of the wires was detached from the jst connector). Set up was a pain here in Sydney as the ambient room temp was 33°, the print chamber 36° but the unit needed to be less than 32° during calibration. After hours of aircon at max, fans blowing into the print chamber and direct cooling I gave up and edited the config file to raise the max calibration temp… The unit works fine. Does what it professes to do with aplomb. But the bed mesh readings I get are not *vastly* more accurate than the stock unit. Given the effort required, including having to root the printer, update printer firmware, flash the unit via a Linux machine, two hours of installation, calibration and troubleshooting time and only minimal increase in bed calibration accuracy, I question the value for a simple hobbyist like me (although devoted modders may relish the problem solving opportunity). Perhaps as a replacement for if the stock unit fails? Although given the price a replacement oem sensor would be a quicker and perfectly workable option… Finally (and the main reason for 4, not 5 stars) - no rubber ducky! :(

Althought initially I was a bit of a beta tester for this product, as I was one of the first to have it in hand, after everything was said and done, I've had great success with it. You CANNOT beat the speed of an Eddy sensor. The price for this unit is so well placed you can't get anything better for your money. I worked with BTT to make changes to the manual to help guide people a little better in the installation process as well as wrote a more in depth guide myself. I've know helped and been successful seeing eddy run on printers from vorons to ender's and everything else. Overall, great product.
