Wool in wrong price area

I picked this ball of wool because I liked the colour for an accent stripe in the blanket I was knitting. I was surprised at the cost when I checked out. But I paid it. I would never have chosen a ball at that price for that purpose. When I came home I found an $18 sticker price (which is what I thought when I picked the ball up). I called the store and was told this is merino wool and would never have been 18 dollars. Fair enough. But the ball was in the wrong bin and I wasn't bold enough to speak up at checkout.

Have not knit with this yet… Bought it because I loved the colour way. Unsure if it will be socks or a shawl. Have knit with this yarn before and loved it!
