Padron Peppers

These are delicious peppers and easy to cook. You can easily find recipes online. Padron peppers are mild varieties; the claim on the packet that every now and again a pepper is very hot is correct but in our case we had quite a few very hot ones. The padron recipes are based on mild peppers, so hopefully this year's batch won't have as many hotties. We like hot peppers but would prefer these to be used in cooking dishes that call for hot chilies. Unfortunately there is no way to identify - before cooking - if a particular pepper is going to be mild or hot. Padron peppers can be frozen for several months and will still taste good; the freezing preserves their flavor as well as the heat of the hot ones.

Great germination

I had over 90% germination from my packet of Padrano Pepper seeds. Unfortunately, my seedling husbandry failed them and I only ended up with 6! I did learn a lot from the experience though and will try again next year!
