The Bud TEN

So far, the Bud 10 is a wonderful amp and a great complement to my Deluxe Reverb. The sound clarity and flexibility coupled with the high quality build are really impressive. My only issue/concern is with the reverb. It appears to create a slight “out of phase” effect, particularly with the higher strings. This also makes tuning problematic. I don’t know whether it is a deal breaker, but it is significant enough to make me consider.

Out of the box it sounded absolutely superb! I hooked up two mics, a vocal and an acoustic one for my Irish button accordion, and the controls set at mid-range needed no adjustment for the room I was in. Played with the reverb a bit and I think it is also top-class. The sound quality of this amp is justly praised as perhaps the best on the market for the size.

I used the Bud (6) for many years and loved it. From lounges to stage performances it excelled. At 84 I have mostly limited my gigs to solo performances (instrumentals). The addition of Bluetooth reduces my equipment needs. The fact that the Bluetooth signal routed through the EQ section is a thoughtful and useful feature.
