Very subjective & misleading title for a beginner
the book is excellent illustrative-wise depicting what I'm assuming are "safe mushrooms"; almost too nice to takeout in the field and utilize for comparative anatomy of the target mushroom. I was anticipating a more thorough discussion of the topographic and climatic areas associated to the specific mushroom; as well as more detail to variable mimicry that may make the difference between edible and poisonous. I'll still use the book but w/ some reservation for the more uncommon mushrooms in my area

Absolutely an accurate description of the book.
I found this book to be the most concise and easily understood book on the subject I have so far read, excellent photographic content. I am impressed,

beautiful pictures
to make sure you can identify correctly,, they have good close up picture's .
i have not seen any mushrooms yet i ny yard, but feel confident i can now make a safe id,on most of them ,
