Our farm water goes through a large, flushable iron filter that works very well, but we installed an alkaline R/O system for drinking. We have it under our kitchen sink and run it to the faucet and to our ice maker. We worry about field chemicals getting into the water table. The original filters lasted a long time as we measured it by the cleanliness of the very first filter. Well, that wasn't the best metric. Our water flow became slow and irregular (like low pressure). We were overdue for replacement, so I ordered this set (at full price). Our water flow is restored and works great again.
