Field Folio A5

Great size and perfect for on the go.

I was looking for a new system with different inserts I could update and replace, and also a place to store my journal. I just finished a 20-year stint on a huge black tome and wanted some with a little less commitment that I could trade out for projects, etc. This Field Folio is just want I'd hoped for. I compared all the sized on the website and went for the A5. It's also tried and true and has a few more options for notebook types. I'm sold!

I have wanted a Lochby field folio for some time, to replace my cheap folio. It is very high quality and well designed. This company has outstanding customer service.

My Hobonichi Techo Cousin Cover

I'm been fiddling with how to use the A5 Field Folio. It's found a permanent home as my Hobonichi Techo Cousin planner cover. The Hobonichi planner is very thick (approximately 0.75") but fits comfortably with a pen and pencil board. I love how the case is large enough to have a full size pen fit above the journal. This allows the Folio to lay flat when zipped. The largest side pocket at the front is an exact fit for my clear plastic A5 pencil board. I've been using one of the 4 elastic bands to hold the journal and the 2 ribbon bookmarks to keep my place on the Hobonichi's 2-page weekly hour-by-hour schedule and my latest daily journal entry. I experimented with adding another ribbon at the bottom to give me 2 more bookmarks but didn't like having bookmarks go in opposite directions. When I'm feeling super ambitious, I'll sometimes add another journal in the back. The zipper still easily closes with my Hobonichi and a second standard sized A6 journal. I often clip 3 Kaweco Liliput fountain pens to the inside of the deeper side pocket of the inside front cover. That along with my Extra Fine Kakuno are all I need to journal anywhere. The Field Folio A5 is another fantastic Lochby product that's become a part of my daily routine. Thank you!
