The retractable key leash accessory is the ideal add on for my 18l Citta. I actually use both. The original inside the top mesh pocket and the retractable in the quick access side pocket. It works a treat.

The wire housing is bigger than I would like but I assumed that was to keep it robust. Less than 7 days and it has broke. It was attached the Citta sling 3L as I was emptying it. Keys were the last thing to come out. Dropped the sling but held onto the keys and the sting snapped. It can’t take the dynamic shock load of a sling. Which is about 200 Newtons or 32 pounds of force for you number nerds out there. If you are clumsy like me just stick with a key leash.

The most obvious thing to say here is why! Why on earth has every key leash in the carry world been so thoughtlessly designed? Short, non-elastic line, attached to a fiddly clip which takes too long to free up. Maybe a magnetic attachment instead in the more upmarket bags, but not guaranteed. it seems so blindingly clear that accessing keys shouldn’t be a struggle, it shouldn't be necessary to detach the key(s) every time, then reattach them. It is a breath of fresh air to find a key leash that takes account of these annoying practical details. The Fyro version is good looking, just because something is small and has a humble function doesn’t mean thought shouldn’t go into the aesthetics. Keys can be used without detaching as the line extends. I would give five stars if this little wonder had a stop/start button like that found on retractable soft tape measures used in dressmaking, so it’s four and three quarter stars from me. Maybe. In v2?
