Finder Tag

I bought this specific tag for two reasons: 1) it was compatible with Apple’s FindMy and 2) unlike the AirTag, this fit neatly amongst my keys—no awkward bulge. But it’s honestly an absolute battery hog. I replaced them on July 1st. It’s July 18th and I just got the double chirp indicating the “battery is low.” There’s no way! I pull up the app and sure enough, in the red. I don’t mind battery replacement, it’s a fact of life, but 18 days?! Come on!

Was hoping this would have precision finding with the Apple Find My integration but it doesn’t. Looks like Apple keeps that limited to AirTags only unfortunately. These trackers are also bigger than my previous Orbitkey x Chipolo trackers, but since they use the Apple find my network they’re still worth it in my opinion. For anyone wondering, they do fit in an Orbitkey Key Organizer but they are just the slightest bit wider than the leather exterior. Still a good choice for those looking to stay in the Apple ecosystem, and the best option outside of AirTags.
